Below are a list of FAQ Responses Based on the Common Questions we have Received

Q: What does the closure mean for AP exams, standardized tests, PSSA’s and Keystones?
A: The PA Dept. of Education will provide guidance regarding PSSA’s and Keystones which our district would follow when any changes are determined. We will communicate any changes to SAT or AP guidance as it is communicated with our district.

Q: Can students get information from teachers online - was that considered?
A: As a district, we are responsible for equity of access to instruction for all students; that includes students without home access to the internet, and appropriate programming for students with disabilities; therefore, the district is not endorsing or approving students complete any work that may have been assigned or provided as “optional” work.

Q: My child’s school has an event planned during this time such as Parent Teacher Conferences, Senior Exit Interviews, etc; will these events take place when school resumes?
A: All activities are currently canceled through March 29. Individual buildings, programs and activities will communicate plans for events scheduled after that date; or make-up dates for those missed, as they are determined.

Q: Will students enrolled in dual enrollment classes in the high school have any different deadlines for their HCC, Shippensburg University, Wilson College, and Penn State Mont Alto classes?
A: Students in these courses should follow expectations from their dual enrollment instructors. If there is any uncertainty, contact the university directly.

Q: Should students enrolled in internships continue their placement?
A: No, they should follow the state guidance on social distancing.

Q: When will these days be made up?
A: PDE will not penalize school districts that fail to meet the minimum 180-day/hours requirements as a result of COVID-19 response efforts; however, the school districts have not received clear guidance on whether or not snow make-up days should be used for this purpose.

Q: Will graduation still be held on June 6th?
A: There are currently no plans to change graduation.

Q: Will you re-evaluate the situation in two weeks before the students go back to school?
A: Yes, the Governor has stated that the closures state-wide will be re-evaluated during the current closure. We as a district will also re-evaluate operations during that time as well. We remain in close contact with PA Dept. of Ed., PA Dept of Health, and the other districts in our Intermediate Unit (Adams, Franklin, York Counties).

Q: Does the district have a plan for meal distribution to our students?
A: Yes, the first day for pick up will be Wednesday, March 18, 2020 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Meal pick-ups will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until school resumes. Pickup will be at the Antrim Township Supervisors Building parking lot, located at 10655 Antrim Church Rd. Greencastle. We request that you remain in your vehicle as the bags will be brought to you.
